Some benefits in participating in the census is that the census can get a head count of how many people are in that particular area. Also, with the count they can help the place with some problems that they are facing and give them the tools that they need. Lastly, With the information they receive they can provide the community with whatever they need.
One challenge Latinos face is maybe they don't want to take the census because they are undocumented and they don't want to get deported. Also, they don't want to get deported because they have a family over here or most of them are here for a better opportunity in life.
It is illegal for the census to share information that they received. Also, if they do share the information that they receive or violate anything they shouldn't they pay $250,000 and/or go to prison for 5 years. Lastly, every Census Bureau staff has to take a lifetime oath to protect your personal information and anything that you put on the survey.
In the 2020 census for either postal or census worker they will receive their census invitation when the taker drops it off. Technology will help because it is easier to take use it. Also if its online it would do it and send it faster. Lastly, some people that own households don't have mailboxes but do have PO Boxes.
